Travel Clinics

We are no longer able to provide a comprehensive travel service at the medical centre.  This is a highly specialised non-NHS service, and due to increasing demands on the practice, we are unable to maintain this service.  We will however, continue to provide the following travel vaccinations which are available on the NHS.

  •  Hepatitis A
  •  Typhoid
  •  Cholera (this vaccine is not indicated for most travellers)

It is important when travelling abroad that you have the appropriate travel advice, and vaccinations. Antimalarial over the counter medication may be purchased from retail pharmacies.  There are a number of travel health websites which offer advice and the latest information on the recommended vaccinations for the country you are visiting. We are unable to recommend a particular site.

If you require only the vaccinations listed above, please ensure that you have documentation from a travel health website or private travel clinic before you book an appointment with the practice nurse. We will not be able to proceed without this.

If you need other vaccinations which are not available under the NHS, you will need to contact a private travel clinic who will advise you of the fees involved.

Details of local private clinics are below but, please note this information does not constitute a recommendation.  Private travel clinics can also provide the vaccinations available under the NHS but you will be charged a fee for these. It is acceptable to have your NHS vaccinations at the surgery and then pay for the additional non-NHS vaccinations required at a private travel clinic.
